  10. The scariest book I have ever read is probably Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I don’t like really scary stories so I avoid them. But those stories used to scare me and my friends when we were younger. ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Pretty much all of the Stephen King books I’ve read have seriously creeped me out, but I would probably have to say that I found his book titled IT to be the creepiest (probably because of the evil clown).

  31. This year I read Scott Nicholson’s Speed Dating with the Dead, which despite that the title sounds like a fun paranormal romance, this was a very scary read!! It would be a perfect Halloween read too.

    Stephen King’s Salems Lot, scared me to death, don’t ask me why I have to idea. By the time I’d read this book I’d all ready read all of H. P. Lovecraft, didn’t bother me. The first thing I read of Stephen King’s was Salem’s Lot and it gave me nightmares, so I’ve never read another one of his books.

    I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that truly scared me. Living Dead Girl certainly disturbed me though.

  45. I don’t know that I’ve ever found a book to be truly scary, but had my moments reading Joe Hill’s Heart-Shaped Box. It’s a modern day ghost story and I REALLY enjoyed it.
