I really feel this answer because I’ve done the same. I’ve let my youth’s idealism consciously blind me to reality. To paraphrase Mark Twain’s famous quote on maturity and aging: My parents get smarter as I get older. Reality deserves our respect. Either bow to it early on, or let it earn that respect–the hard way…

I’ve had this happen to me to, yours and ice mocha, mine was an eggroll. I wanted some of that crispy goodness but was too lazy to leave. Don’t you wish you could just open the fridge and whatever you were craving was there!

That is actually a good way of living if we start a new way of tradition right after a tragic experience…
