I’m crying as I read this! I had a best friend that I met when I was 11 years old. We have remained friends until I graduated college, and then, things just changed. We grew apart and she started getting competitive once I got into the music industry as a producer and had little success. I think she was jealous of that. I feel sad because some relationships just don’t make it. Its sad actually, but you know everyone has their role in your life. I guess his season was over.…..:(

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully, your efforts to reconnect will be successful. As I've gotten older, I appreciate more the friends I had in my youth, for it seems many more of their friendships were real, versus "networking" that occurs today. I am making a conscious effort to reconnect with my old friends. Janie I admire your perseverance in trying to either catch-up with or find closure with Steven. I wrote a post about a broken friendship here http://lolasdiner.blogspot.com.….ut-me.html. Sadly, my friend passed away from a brain tumor and due to my own person circumstances at the time (dealing with a very mentally ill spouse) I could not get that closure. Her sister has since friended me on fb, however I recently found out that her mother passed away 2 years ago. I live in another state and had no idea. I posted a private message on her wall when I found out. I have not heard from her since.

Not having closure.……the reason he cut you out of his life would drive me nuts. I can’t believe you’ve reached out to him and he hasn’t even bothered to respond. Sad.
