I think a lot of personal bloggers write to share, to connect with others. To be reassured that they're not alone, that others are going through the same thing. Or maybe to help someone else who might be going through something similar. And some just like to tell a story. I admit that while I do get somewhat personal, I don't share nearly as much as some of those that I read. I just can't do it, put my heart out there to be stomped upon. But I understand why they do it. I am also not to "see through" reader, and wasting time on such articles is a a waste of our time and burden to our minds. I know blogging should be about experiences but I don't think that there should be too much honesty in it. Divulging too much is almost like being naked in front of your readers. Personally, I'd rather read blogs that are informative rather than reading humiliating stories. By the way, I also love the ocean. This is my favorite place. I used to take long walks (alone) just to be able to think. Sometimes I bring my journal with me to collect my thoughts. I like writing things similar to what you have posted.
