Friday Fill-Ins: Volume 5

1. Tonight I saw Oprah’s interview of Thomas Beatie, the transgendered man from Oregon who is now pregnant. What do you think about his decision to give birth to a child with his wife of five years, Nancy?

2. “Sway” by the Pussycat Dolls makes me wanna dance! (”Shall We Dance?” is one of my favorite movies. When Richard Gere comes up the escalator holding a single red rose for Susan Sarandon . . . I’m a goner.)

3. Splitting a few appetizers between friends on the patio, along with a fine glass of Lodi wine sounds like a great way to spend an evening.

4. Karen at Write from Karen is someone I’d like to get to know better.

5. The smell of cherry blossoms reminds me so much of springtime!

6. I came home and found I had received a supportive email message from a very dear friend and that made it all better.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to relaxing and practicing my flute because tomorrow my plans include performing with the Lodi Community Band, Stockton Concert Band, and Stockton Wind Ensemble in the 2008 Community Band Festival and Sunday, I want to sleep late and have a vigorous water aerobics session.

I am quite confused. The person used to be a woman, and then became a man and then married a woman and then decided to have a baby? Am i right so far? And then the er, person is pregnant by who exactly? And would the wife then be the father or the mother in this situation? O the convoluted politics of the trans gendered!

If he wants to have a baby I say go for it. He shouldn’t be judged for it. Then again, I’m against everyone who hates/disagrees with anything. xD It IS his right. And they have no right to tell him no and/or turn him away.

I guess maybe I’ll comment on the woman who is pregnant since this is happening just down the road from me. Yes, it’s a woman, not a man. Men cannot get pregnant. That’s all I have to say.

i think trans-gender people r certified to be unfit for bearing child. so i had read it. pls correct me if i m wrong. but it is baffling to hear.

shall we dance is one of my favourites, what with jennifer lopez at her best dancing shoes. gere picked up well in it.
