More or less my life.

And I don’t consider those mis-spent, either.

There were friendships made those times, which are still strong, though many years have passed and our respective lives have taken very different turns.

The Bump - it is so long since I heard that particular dance referred to! I must be about the same age as you Janie. I was a wanna be hippy, a bit late for the main trend though. I wore long skirts, afghan coats and had long flowing hair. I was not such a rebel as my sister (13 years older than me) so I did not suffer the wrath of my parents. (apart from after at a party at home where the guests did not quite behave as they expected!). I partied quite hard and this continued all through Uni. I had a wonderful time

I enjoy 70’s music a lot and i was born in 1983. But you have forgot the long hair of the old school days. That was such a highlight for me and many others. When im going over pictures of my parents from the 70’s and i see there long hair, i crack up laughing.

Wow! That is one awesome post. I feel like you have summed up my whole life in one fell swoop. I was totally into sbiccas (which I think are making a comeback by the way), barbie and ken, and disco.
I can totally relate. As far as parents go, well, yeah they just don’t get it. The funny thing is, I keep saying that same thing to my hubby when we talk about our teenagers. “They just don’t get it!” LOL What comes around goes around for sure.

Great post! I was in junior high in the mid to late 70’s and remember dancing to Stayin’ Alive and doing the Hustle at my first dance! And doing the Bump! ; )
