I found you on the CWO blogroll for the Choosing to Live Well, I'm also taking part in this and I could TOTALLY relate to this post of yours. The only difference is.....my mom DIDN'T tell me I was overweight or help me make better choices which led to denial in my own life until I got to high school and saw that the "other girls" were a lot thinner than me!! Which eventually led to an eating disorder which I have overcome through the power of GRACE but now I'm struggling to get three baby's weight off in a healthy way. Thanks for sharing this, it was heart-breaking to read but also a huge eye opener for me with my girls. I look foreword to encouraging you along this journey as well! Take care!! Hi! I was also subjected to the same thing as a child, which I ended up with an eating disorder because I believed the most important thing was to please my mother. She was heavy as a child, and did not want me to be subjected to what she was but it completely destroyed my self image as a teen and as an adult. Now having three girls of my own, I am trying VERY hard to help them understand that they are beautiful people the way that they are today and not use images and media as their guide to beauty.
