You know, whether the photo is real or not doesn't matter. It's just a shame that everyone is so darn sensitive towards race and stereotypes.

Racial Jokes's most recent blog post..Workout Plan For Those Over 50 Years Old

Hej Janie,
really nice and sophisticated post, I love it, because there are so many true points. I appreciate your attitude to behave towards principles. But sometimes there are situations you have to break with them...but that´s how it is.
Kind regards

I must say that I do find that picture humourous. Personally I would like to believe that even Ray Charles would find that a bit funny if he could see it. I don't think the posting of that photo necessarily indicates a lack of respect. If it had been me posting that photo, I can honestly say it would have been done so affectionately.

Jonathans last blog post..Dreams And Intentions Will Get You Nowhere, Only Actions Can

Well, i suppose it's all about right and wrong, yes. however right and wrong is only something that exits in the eye of the observer, there's only situations, and they are all neutral until we put an etiquette on them. As well, i kind of have the feeling that Ray Charles would have loved if someone shared a laughter with him. :) let's make this world smile!

A note to my readers:

I gave serious consideration to deleting the above comment from "Charlie Evans."

Ultimately, I decided to leave the comment as a testament to the extreme ignorance and lack of sophistication that I deal with every day in my profession.

Yet another person getting on their moral high horse on behalf of someone else. If that person has a problem with it let them speak out. If not then shut the hell up. Spinning out something that is a mild jopke about his blindness into a racial commentary about blacks and jews is a complete non sequitur. Don't confuse two issues. It's not about him being black. This just purpetuates the idea that because he is a black man we can't enjoy a joke at his expense. That is a racist attitude to boot. Of course you'll declare that you're not a racist and that some of your best friends are black. I have no problem with people making fun of me. It's healthy!

well I think you are being overly sensitive i think the picture is mildly humorous and if that incident had happened the first person to joke about it would be Mr Charles. If you don't think it's funny don't laugh at it. I'm glad you don't judge others if they feel it's funny. And I don't see how you draw his heritage and ethnicity into this. that picture would have the same humorous Characteristic if it was Ronnie Milsap. Other then that I enjoyed your column

It's not about not being funny or not having a sense of humour - it is about what is right or wrong - and it is just WRONG to make fun of someone for their disability (or for any other reason) people are so narrow minded - gets me so frustrated.

So glad there are people like you working to stop this stuff happening.
