Photo Hunt: Silver

January 26, 2007

This week’s theme: Silver

I know, I know . . . it is exactly what you expected to see, right?
Well, the theme is silver and my flute is a hand-made, professional model silver flute with a platinum riser.
So I’m sorry that I’m very predictable this week.
I will try to be more inventive next week when the theme is “gross.”
Actually, considering that theme, you might find yourself longing for another look at my predictably beautiful flute!
Hehehehehehehe . . .
(evil attorney laugh)

Well, I for one wasn’t expecting this. Thanks for the visit. This is a lovely flute. Way back, long, long ago in the dark ages of my past… sixth grade actually.. they asked us what instruments we wanted to try for band. (back when music was actually taught to everyone in elementary school) I wanted so much to do the flute, but at the time I had crooked teeth… ok, buck teeth from thumb sucking as a baby and toddler and I couldn’t get my mouth to form the correct position. I missed my chance and had to settle with the piano and violin which were already in the works privately.

Things worked out fine though…but sometimes I wonder where I would be if that flute had been for me.

Nice flute and next week certainly should be interesting.

I think a flute is a great idea for silver!! I love to listen to the flute. We have a lady at church that plays beautifully. If my trumpet was silver, I’d shown it. Great idea for silver.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a nice weekend,

Biker Betty :)

I keep looking at that flute and going “huh?” Is the picture backwards? Did someone put it together upside down?? Sorry for all the questions. Nice idea for silver, though!

The flute in the photo is put together correctly and is positioned so that you would pick it up, put the lip plate up to your mouth, and play. Your fingers “face” opposite directions on the keys. Your left hand fingertips are toward you and your right have fingertips are away from you.

This flute has an offset G-key. Note in the middle the keys are not in a straight line. This is a more ergonomically correct position for your left hand than the inline formation. At least many people think so. Some have trouble playing offset and vice versa. Just depends on the player’s comfort as determined by hand size, finger length, etc. In my case, I have carpal tunnel so I much prefer the off-set.

I wouldn’t know what’s left or right on a flute, but I can tell this flute is something else.

Nice shot!

Beautiful instrument!! I played flute while I was in school. Never picked it up again after high school (many moons ago!).

Very interesting.

And you say it’s not inventive ?? It’s great, you are the first and probably the only one who posted such a beautiful silver flute !

eija 01.27.07 at 4:33 am

Wow, you have a b-foot!
I was just as predictable as you, but I have three flutes in my post - did I win? :D

Danella 01.27.07 at 6:06 am

That is a beautiful flute and perfect for the theme.

Thanks for stopping by.

I think that was pretty inventive for the theme!

The flute is a beautiful instrument! One of my good friends in high school played.

I’m curious to see what people are going to come up with for the “gross” theme. Kind of dreading it actually, hehe.

I played too :)

Ma 01.27.07 at 8:16 am

It’s a very beautiful flute. I’d show it of too if it were mine. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Your silver hand made flute is perfect for the theme. I don’t know about that evil attorney laugh though! hehe! :)

GEWELS 01.27.07 at 9:05 am

Beautiful instrument. I can hear the notes drifting through the airwaves now.
Mine’s up

Hi,

It’s not predictable to those of us new to your blog! I am looking forward to having a look around!

Barbara H. 01.27.07 at 10:02 am

I agree with Jane above — I didn’t know you played the flute, so this isn’t predictable at all. It’s the first musical instrument I have seen so far today. :)

Thanks for stopping by my place!

The flute is beautiful and suits the theme perfectly. I love listening to the flute. Happy weekend.

FamilySnows 01.27.07 at 3:22 pm

I’m hearing beautiful music right now!

meeyauw 01.27.07 at 5:31 pm

Instruments of that caliber are themselves works of art. Beautiful!
