I am getting really excited about my upcoming trip to New York City and performance at Carnegie Hall! It is not until late March 2007, but the details are coming together which is making this long-held dream start to feel very real and imminent. (At my age, I am all too aware of how quickly time passes!)
We are going to be performing in the Isaac Stern Auditorium upon the Ronald O. Perelman Family Stage. You can take a virtual tour of that stunningly beautiful facility.
We will have a 110-member ensemble called the Delta Winds. We are a conglomeration of members of the Stockton Concert Band, Lodi Community Band, Tracy Community Band, and other musicians invited by our Director, Art Holton, to join us. We will be headlining the evening performance at Carnegie on Wednesday, March 28, 2007.
On Saturday evening, March 24, 2007, we will have a send-off concert in the Atherton Auditorium at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton. For those of you in the area, note the date and plan now to join us! It will be an extremely festive evening with all of us thrilled to be leaving for NYC the next morning.
In the interim, there are many water aerobics classes to attend and lots of hours to be spent on the stationery bicycle in preparation! Between working out, practicing my flute, taking my lessons, playing in several bands and performing solos, as well as with my duet partner, keeping up with the kids, and . . . earning a living . . . there just isn’t a lot of time for blogging right now. But I will keep you posted as the details come together!
